NEG8 Carbon Shortlisted for Two Manufacturing Excellence Awards for Direct Air Capture Breakthroughs

NEG8 Carbon is proud to announce that it has been shortlisted in two prestigious categories at this year’s Manufacturing Excellence Awards: Innovation of the Year and Best Use of Technology.

The nominations recognise the company’s advancements in Direct Air Capture (DAC) technology, which promise to make carbon removal more affordable and accessible at scale.

NEG8 Carbon’s latest DAC technology delivers notable improvements over traditional approaches. At its core is an advanced sorbent material that captures more carbon dioxide than previous systems while using less energy. This enhanced sorbent regenerates faster and lasts over five years, dramatically reducing operating costs.

As a result, NEG8 Carbon’s system makes DAC a more viable option for widespread deployment—an essential step for industries and governments striving to meet net-zero emissions targets.

Ray Naughton, Founder & Managing Director of NEG8 Carbon said that Direct Air Capture plays a vital role in reaching global climate goals, particularly in hard-to-abate sectors.

“Our innovations are helping to bridge the gap between technological potential and commercial reality. By making DAC more affordable and scalable, we aim to equip industries and governments across the EU and beyond in their efforts to deliver on emissions commitments.”

The International Energy Agency (IEA) and the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) both highlight the need for carbon removal technologies like DAC to complement emissions reductions. As industries work to cut their carbon footprints, scalable solutions such as NEG8 Carbon’s DAC system will be key to achieving long-term climate goals.

NEG8 Carbon is honoured to be among these shortlisted companies:
