NEG8 Carbon Named Among Leading CCS Technology Companies in Global CCS Institute’s Compendium

14 July 2026

NEG8 Carbon has been included in State of the Art: CCS Technologies 2026 compendium, the flagship annual technology publication from the Global CCS Institute.

This honour recognises the Direct Air Capture (DAC) specialist company as being among the world’s leading carbon capture and storage (CCS) technology developers.

The Global CCS Institute is an international think tank dedicated to advancing carbon capture and storage and carbon dioxide removal as tools in the fight against climate change. Through research, advocacy and industry engagement, the Institute works to promote CCS technologies and support their adoption across the energy and industrial sectors worldwide.

State of the Art: CCS Technologies is the Institute’s authoritative annual compendium which gives a trusted overview of the innovations accelerating CCS deployment. This year’s edition features more than 190 CCS technology solutions and over 90 leading providers, spanning the full carbon capture, transport and storage value chain. Only technologies that meet a Technology Readiness Level of 5 or above qualify for inclusion, meaning every entry represents a solution that has moved beyond the concept stage and demonstrated real-world credibility.

For NEG8 Carbon, inclusion in the report is a major endorsement. Being featured alongside the industry’s most established technology providers underscores the progress the company has made in developing its electrostatic DAC technology which is designed to reduce the cost and energy intensity of capturing CO₂ directly from the atmosphere. The recognition adds to a growing list of accolades for the NEG8 Carbon, which has previously been recognised with the EIC Seal of Excellence and an Earthshot Prize nomination.

Head of Business Development at NEG8 Carbon, Dr David Mulrooney, said:

“Being named in the Institute’s compendium gives NEG8 Carbon greater visibility among a global audience of investors, policymakers and industry stakeholders actively seeking commercial and near-commercial CCS solutions which reinforces the company’s position as one of the technologies helping shape the future of carbon capture and storage.”
