Direct Air Capture Technology in the Spotlight on WLR FM

In an interview on The Hot Desk on WLR FM, host Mary O’Neill discussed with Dr John Breen, Chief Technology Officer at NEG8 Carbon, the company’s progress and plans in Direct Air Capture (DAC).
Dr Breen explained NEG8’s DAC technology and how it uses a unique electrostatic DAC process to remove CO₂ from ambient air, producing a high-purity CO₂ stream for storage underground or CO₂ utilisation in, for example, sustainable aviation fuel production or storing the CO₂ in concrete.
The interview also covered a new engineering study with Prochem Engineering to design Ireland’s first full-scale 50-tonne-per-annum DAC unit, intended as a modular building block for future deployment at a large scale.
